| Haveli
of Raja Dhiyan Singh / Nawaz Sharif College for Women, Chuna
Mandi, 1996 |
|

|
| The
Haveli of Raja Dhian Singh is of palace proportions and situated
in the Chuna Mandi quarters of the Old City. It was conceived
on a grand scale for one of the influential courtiers of Maharaja
Ranjit Singh, Raja Dhian Singh (1796 - 1843) who later became
his Prime Minister. After years of neglect and misuse the Haveli
was restored to something approaching its past majesty. It now
houses a government girls college. |
